It is an elastic metal part that stores force when it is bent, stretched or compressed and gives it back. Kansai Special lists this part in the books of many machine families, among them FX, NR and RX.

A spring supplies the force that a lever, a foot or a thread control needs. When it tires, the setting drifts even though the adjustment looks right.

Details

Kansai Special part number: 79-9120-0

Part name: Spring

Short form of the number: 79-912

Type: Springs

Kansai Special parts books that list this part: FX, NR, RX and 7 more

When to replace it

Bright wear marks or grooves where the spring rubs another part

Ends that are bent open, worn through or no longer seating properly

Rattling or buzzing from the spring area while the machine runs

Install it in the same position and hook it the same way as the old spring, and check the adjustment that depends on it afterwards.

Choosing the right part

To check a coil spring, measure the free length, the wire diameter and the outer diameter of the old one, and count its coils. A stretched or broken spring gives a false length, so rely on the part number in that case. The part number is the safest check: the same number can be used on more than one model.

More Kansai Special parts for the same machines

Kansai Special 79-5220-0 Spring

Kansai Special 79-4270-0 Spring

Browse Kansai Special springs, or see Kansai Special spare parts.
