This is a threaded fastener that clamps parts together when it is turned into a tapped hole or a nut. Pegasus gives the E32 as the machine for this part.

In service the same screws are loosened and tightened again and again. Each time the thread or the head can pick up a burr, so a screw that has been through many adjustments is better replaced before it damages the hole.

Details

Pegasus part number: 005304000009

Part name: Screw

Short form of the number: 0053040

Type: Screws, Nuts & Washers

Listed by Pegasus for: E32

Pegasus parts catalogues that list this part: FS700P; W500(P); W500PC; FS700P/PD23

When to replace it

A bent or rusted screw, or one that was lost during service

Flats or grooves worn into the tip or shoulder of a stop screw

The screwdriver slips in the head, or the head is stripped or rounded

Start the screw by hand: if it binds in the first turns, stop and check the thread and the hole before tightening.

Choosing the right part

Length decides how many threads grip.
