This is a part of the automatic thread trimming mechanism. JUKI includes it in its parts kit for the JUKI MOL-254.

After the last stitch the trimmer cuts the threads (on a lockstitch machine, the needle thread and the bobbin thread) and clears the thread ends so that sewing can start cleanly again. Hooks, knives, wipers and their drives have to work in step, and wear in one of them affects the whole cycle. The wiper moves the cut needle thread end out of the way after trimming.

Details

JUKI part number: 13872106

Part name: Wiper

Type: Thread Trimmer Parts

Quantity in the JUKI kit 40181179 (MOL-254): 2

Fits these JUKI machines

JUKI's parts kit sheets list part 13872106 for: JUKI MOL-254.

The machine names are written the way JUKI writes them.

When to replace it

Threads are left uncut or are cut at the wrong length

The thread end is caught or sewn into the next seam

The trimmer is slow, noisy or does not complete its cycle

Switch the machine off and unplug it before you start.
