The DDL-8000A is a high-speed single-needle lockstitch machine, and like every machine that runs for hours, it asks for the same few parts again and again. This page gathers them in one table: how often our service mechanic usually replaces each one, and the JUKI number to order.
Before you use the numbers
Treat the intervals as a guide. They are our service mechanic's rough figures for machines in regular industrial use, not a JUKI specification and not a warranty. Fabric, thread, speed, hours per day and how well the head is cleaned and oiled all push them one way or the other. Use them to plan your stock, and look at the part itself before you decide to change it.
The numbers below are from our mechanic's list for the DDL-8000ASN; other versions can use other numbers.

How it compares with the DDL-8700H
If you also run DDL-8700H machines, many numbers will look familiar: the bobbin, the bobbin case, the feed dog (11403003), the throat plate (11400801), the needle bar thread guide (B1418415H00), the tension assembly (22962054), the springs and the two screws are the same as on the DDL-8700H. The trimmer parts are not: the moving knife (40195289), the counter knife (40195552) and the thread guide for knife (40239186) are specific to the DDL-8000A, and so, among these three families, is the bobbin winder wheel rubber ring (40191114). Our DDL-8700 guide has the full table for that family.
Which ones to stock first
The parts that go first on a busy machine are the bobbins (2-3 months), then the counter knife and the thread guide for knife (3 months), then the bobbin case and the moving knife (6 months). Most of the rest is a once-a-year job. On our part pages the same logic is shown with labels: 🔥 Keep in stock for the short intervals, Good to have for the yearly ones.
Spare parts for the machine are collected here: JUKI DDL-8000A Spare Parts. A monthly check-up routine is described in Sewing Machine Preventive Maintenance: The 30-Day Rule.
Questions
Which DDL-8000A version does the table cover?
The numbers come from our mechanic's list for the DDL-8000ASN. Other versions of the DDL-8000A can use other numbers, so the table is valid for an ASN only.
How do I know a knife is due for replacement?
When the thread is not cut cleanly, thread ends are left hanging or the fabric edge near the trimmer is damaged. Check the counter knife and the moving knife together; if one is chipped or rounded, the other usually suffers too.
Is 6 months for the moving knife a guarantee?
No. It is a rough figure for regular industrial use. A knife that cuts heavy or abrasive material will need replacing sooner, and one that sews light fabric a few hours a day will last longer.
