How It Works

The Juki DLN-9010A uses a precise needle-feed mechanism that works in sync with the bottom feed to ensure smooth, slip-free sewing, even on tricky fabrics. Its dry-type needle feed eliminates the need for oiling, keeping your work area clean, while the energy-saving control box reduces power consumption during downtime. With quick adjustments, you can easily switch between needle and bottom feed, making this machine versatile and efficient for various sewing tasks.

FAQS

JUKI DLN-9010ASHWB/AK118 — 1-Needle, Direct-Drive, High-Speed Needle-Feed Lockstitch for Heavy Materials with Automatic Thread Trimmer & Auto-Lifter

Built to bring order and control to heavy-weight programs, the JUKI DLN-9010ASHWB/AK118 unites needle-feed accuracy, a 300 mm needle-to-arm space and a direct-drive head in a compact, production-ready station. With speeds up to 4,000 stitches per minute and automation handling thread trimming, wiping, programmed reverse and presser-foot lifting, the cycle stays tight while the operator concentrates on guiding the seam. The micro-lifter lets the foot float over difficult-to-sew fabrics instead of crushing them, leaving strong, well-drawn stitch lines with a distinctly premium finish.

What Sets JUKI DLN-9010ASHWB/AK118 Apart

  • Needle Feed for Accurate Pitch and Less Slippage
The needle-feed mechanism works in step with the improved bottom feed, so the top cloth is carried rather than dragged, keeping stitch length accurate and preventing upper-layer shift. Even on slippery or hard-to-feed sections, this pairing produces smooth seams without gathering.

  • Convertible Needle-Feed / Bottom-Feed
The feeding system can be switched from needle feed to conventional bottom feed by a simple adjustment and gauge change, allowing the same head to run as a precision needle-feed machine or as a standard lockstitch, depending on the operation.

  • Dry-Type Needle Feed and Minute-Oil Frame Lubrication
The machine uses a dry-type needle-feed mechanism that does not require oiling, while only a minute quantity of lubricant is delivered to the hook and needle bar. Eliminating the oil pan reduces the risk of leaks and staining and helps maintain a clean sewing environment.
  • Compact Direct-Drive AC Servomotor for Reliable Power
A compact AC servomotor is coupled directly to the main shaft in a true direct-drive system, giving quick start/stop response with less vibration and better power transmission than a belt drive.
  • 300 mm Needle-to-Arm Space for Easier Handling
With 300 mm from needle to machine arm, operators gain extra room to position and rotate panels, which simplifies handling of larger garment parts and awkward seams.
  • 15 mm Presser-Foot Lift for Thick Assemblies
The presser foot lifts to a maximum of 15 mm; used together with needle-up stop, this extra clearance makes it easier to load and unload layered or heavier assemblies on the bed.
  • Micro-Lifter for Difficult Materials
A built-in micro-lifter keeps the presser foot slightly floating above elastic or otherwise hard-to-sew fabrics, helping reduce material slippage and minimizing marks or damage from foot pressure.
  • Pedal-Driven Auto-Lifter for Faster Handling
The AK118 auto-lifter raises the presser foot by pedal operation, so lifting and repositioning workpieces is quicker and requires fewer hand movements between seams.
  • Automatic Thread Trimmer for Faster Cycles
A trimming mechanism cuts thread about 1.5× faster than the previous design while retaining high reliability, so seam ends are finished cleanly with less cycle loss.
  • Thread Wiper + Automatic Reverse Feed for Clean Starts and Stops
The built-in wiper pulls the needle thread away after trimming, and the automatic reverse-feed function performs programmed backtacks at the beginning and end of seams, securing stitches and reducing loose tails that need manual cleanup.
  • Safety Switch for Maintenance
If the head is tilted while the power remains on, a safety switch disables machine drive so it will not run even if the pedal is pressed, helping protect operators and technicians during threading, cleaning or service.

Included Components

  • SC-920A Control Box
Control box with built-in energy-saving mode reduces power draw by about 20% while the motor is at rest, trimming electricity use on lines where many heads sit in standby.

  • CP-18A Operation Panel
The panel centralizes setup for functions such as automatic reverse-feed stitching and multi-layer stitching and provides core production readouts. Target and actual piece counts, machine availability, pitch time, average stitch speed and a bobbin counter are all displayed, giving a concise picture of each station’s performance.

How This Improves Your Workflow

  • More Control Over Heavy, Difficult Materials
Needle feed with optimized bottom feed keeps thick or multi-layer assemblies from creeping or gathering, so stitch length and seam geometry stay stable even on demanding heavy-weight programs.
  • Higher Output With Less Operator Fatigue
Direct-drive motor, automatic thread trimming, programmed reverse, wiper and pedal-driven auto-lifter remove many repetitive motions from the cycle, letting operators maintain speed and focus on guiding bulky parts instead of fighting the machine.
  • Cleaner Process and Fewer Stain-Related Defects
The dry-type needle-feed mechanism and minute-oil lubrication to the hook and needle bar run without an oil pan, sharply reducing the risk of oil leaks and marks on high-value pieces.
  • Better Use of Each Station on the Line
With wider working space, high foot lift, a micro-lifter and convertible needle/bottom feed, one machine can cover flat panels, bulky stacks and different heavy styles without dedicated “special” heads. That flexibility makes it easier to reassign machines between operations, shift capacity to urgent orders and rebalance the line without major disruption.

Needle-Feed for Stable Seam Accuracy
The needle moves in sync with the bottom feed, carrying the top layer through the seam instead of letting it slide under the presser foot. Stitch length stays accurate and upper layers stay in register, even on slippery or dense heavy fabrics.

Switchable Needle / Bottom Feed for Flexibility
Feed can be changed from needle feed to conventional bottom feed with a simple adjustment and gauge change. One head can run as a precise needle-feed machine on demanding styles or as a standard lockstitch on easier work.

Dry Type Needle Feed with Minute-Oil Hook Lubrication
The needle-feed mechanism runs dry and only a very small quantity of oil is supplied to the hook and needle bar. With no oil pan, the risk of leaks and fabric staining is sharply reduced.

Direct-Drive AC Servomotor
A compact AC servomotor is connected directly to the main shaft, delivering quick start/stop response with less vibration and more efficient power transfer.

300 mm Working Space for Larger Panels
The 300 mm needle-to-arm distance gives extra room to position and rotate garment parts, making long seams, awkward angles and larger pieces easier to handle.

High Presser-Foot Lift for Thick Stacks
The presser foot lifts up to 15 mm; combined with needle-up stop, this extra clearance simplifies loading and unloading layered or heavier assemblies on the bed.

Micro-Lifter for Mark-Sensitive Fabrics
An integrated micro-lifter keeps the presser foot slightly floating when needed, helping to control slippage and reduce marking on elastics, coated fabrics and other difficult surfaces.

Pedal Auto-Lifter for Faster Repositioning
The AK118 auto-lifter raises the presser foot by pedal, so operators can lift and reposition work without taking hands off the material, reducing effort and speeding up handling between seams.

High-Speed Thread Trimmer for Shorter Cycles
The automatic trimmer cuts thread about 1.5× faster than the previous designs while maintaining reliability, cleaning up seam ends quickly and shortening each cycle.

Automatic Reverse and Wiper for Clean Seam Ends
Programmed reverse-feed backtacks at the start and end of seams secure the stitch line, while the wiper pulls needle thread away after trimming. Loose tails and manual clean-up at seam ends are reduced.

Safety Switch for Maintenance
If the head is tilted while power is on, a safety switch disables drive so the machine will not run even if the pedal is pressed. Threading, cleaning and service work under the head can be done more safely.
