In 1981, two brothers from a working-class Italian-American family dared to dream big. Sal and Joe Prizzi, armed with the knowledge and experience they had gained from years of working at Kennedy Sewing Machine Co., decided it was time to forge their own path. With a deep-seated belief in hard work, quality, and customer commitment, they founded PRIZZI, a company that would soon become a beacon of excellence in the industrial sewing industry. Following their virtues, the two brothers quickly made PRIZZI a respected name in the sewing industry. Making the most of Sal's technical expertise and Joe's salesmanship, the two were set to operate on the simple belief that quality and customer commitment should always come first.
From the start, PRIZZI took a stance on selling exclusively new machines—a bold move in an industry where much of the competition favored used equipment. Sal and Joe believed that the best way to serve their customers was to provide reliable, cutting-edge products that can be sold with pride and confidence. PRIZZI quickly gained a loyal customer base that has put their trust in us for decades. Many of whom have been working with us for over 30 years as of today.

A New Era with Respect for the Past
1994, a significant milestone was achieved: PRIZZI secured exclusive rights with KANSAI. During this time, Michael Guido, a young mechanic who had been working with KANSAI since the age of 17, was sent from New Jersey to California to represent KANSAI and assist PRIZZI. Mickey brought not just technical knowledge but a genuine respect for the craft and the people with whom he worked. He quickly became an essential part of the PRIZZI family, earning the trust and admiration of Sal and Joe.
When Sal and Joe decided to retire in 2007, their children chose to pursue other paths, but Mickey saw a unique opportunity. Having worked closely with the Prizzi brothers for years, Mickey had learned not just the mechanics of the business, but its heart and soul. In 2007, he took the helm of PRIZZI, ensuring the company’s legacy of quality and service would continue.
"I knew this was more than just a business," Michael recalls. "It was a family—built with dedication, integrity, and a commitment to helping others succeed. I wanted to carry that forward."
In 2009, Mickey expanded the business by acquiring the table division from SOCAL, offering custom-built sewing tables and accessories that complemented PRIZZI’s sewing machine offerings. This strategic move not only broadened our product line but also positioned PRIZZI as a comprehensive provider for industrial sewing needs.
