T-legs have a single center post with casters — they are easy to move and work well with most tabletop sizes. K-legs have a wider stance with no casters and are more stable for heavy-duty or production use. Both are compatible with our table tops.

Table Assembly & Hardware

Yes — this is expected. Our current tabletops do not include pre-drilled holes for leg attachment. The legs mount using screws that go through the table surface.

We apologize for the confusion — some of our older videos and documentation were made before we updated our manufacturing process. Current tables do not include pre-drilled leg holes. We are working to update the videos.

No — hinges, inserts, and corners are included with the machine kit, not with the tabletop. If your machine kit is missing these components, contact us.

These rubber items are always included in the box with the machine. Please check the original packaging carefully — they are typically in a small bag inside the box.

The control box attaches directly using screws — no pre-drilled holes are needed. It can be mounted to the underside of the table using standard hardware.

Choosing a Machine

For thick leather and heavy materials, we recommend a walking foot (unison feed) machine. The Juki DNU-1541 is our most popular choice — it uses a compound feed mechanism designed for heavy materials like leather, canvas, and vinyl.

The DDL-8000A is designed for general apparel and lighter materials. For multiple layers and bag making, a walking foot machine is a better fit — such as the Juki DU-1181N, the Juki DNU-1541, or the JIN NA11-UT.

I need a machine for denim and leather — home use, reasonably priced.

Machine Setup & Adjustments

Yes — this is expected. Industrial sewing machines are precision equipment shipped in standard factory configuration. They typically require setup and fine-tuning for your specific materials, thread, and working conditions.

When the needle reaches its lowest point and begins to rise (approximately 2–2.3 mm above the lowest position), the tip of the hook should pass just above the needle eye to catch the upper thread loop. Your instruction manual includes a detailed diagram with the exact measurements for your model.

Locate the take-up spring mechanism behind the tension disc assembly. Increase the spring pressure by turning the adjustment screw, and set the spring stroke to approximately 5 mm. Make sure the spring returns quickly and pulls the thread snugly into the stitch. Your instruction manual has a diagram showing the exact location.

Bobbin tension is adjusted using the small screw on the bobbin case. Turning the screw clockwise increases tension, counterclockwise decreases it. A common test: hold the bobbin case with thread attached and let it hang — it should drop slowly under its own weight when you give a slight tug.

The stitch length on my machine is not adjusting properly.

Try pressing the reverse lever while turning the stitch length knob. Calibrate by turning it fully clockwise to the end position — in this extreme position, the stitch length should correspond to zero. Your instruction manual has detailed calibration instructions.

Loosen the handwheel clutch — the inner knob on the handwheel. Turn it counterclockwise until it clicks. This disconnects the needle mechanism so only the bobbin winder operates. Tighten it again when done.

The thread tension seems wrong — I see loops under the fabric.

Loops on the underside usually indicate the upper thread tension is too loose or the threading path is incorrect. Re-thread the machine following the threading diagram. The most common causes are hook timing and bobbin tension. Try reducing the bobbin thread tension slightly. The thread trimmer is not working properly or the thread gets jammed.

My machine's thread trimming knives seem dull or are not cutting cleanly.

If the thread trimmer is leaving long tails or not cutting, the knives may need repositioning or replacement. Check the knife alignment per your instruction manual. This is a delicate adjustment — email support@prizzisewing.com with a short video if you need guidance.

The foot pedal feels stuck or does not respond smoothly.

Check the pedal mounting brackets — they may need to be spread slightly apart. Make sure there is no debris caught around the mechanism. My machine starts on its own or runs uncontrollably when I press the pedal.

The machine may be locked due to a thread jam, a triggered shuttle locking device, or an obstruction in the hook area. Turn off and unplug the machine. The bobbin winder is not winding evenly or stops too soon.

Check the thread guide position — it controls how thread lays on the bobbin. Make sure the bobbin is seated firmly on the winder spindle. If the winder stops early, the tension may be too tight. Remember to disengage the needle mechanism by loosening the handwheel clutch before winding.

My Juki DDL-9000C-FMS shows error E072 when I try to trim the thread.

Error E072 is related to the thread trimming mechanism. This usually means the thread trimming cam timing needs adjustment. Check whether the error occurs only during trimming or also during backtacking. If the machine works with trimming turned off, it confirms the issue is with the trim mechanism. My DDL-8000A keeps turning off after 15–20 minutes with no error code.

If the display shows P-OFF, the issue is likely electrical. Check power supply wire connections, inspect the cable and plug, and test the on/off switch. Lubrication & Maintenance

Use only liquid sewing machine oil designed for industrial machines. Never use household oil, WD-40, grease, or any thick lubricant — these can clog the lubrication system and damage internal components.

We recommend oiling before each use or approximately every 8 hours of operation. Always check the oil level in the reservoir before starting work — it should be between the two marks on the oil tank.

The needle plate must match your machine's feed dog configuration and needle position. If you notice the needle hitting the plate or thread catching in the plate opening, it may be incorrect or damaged. Check the part number stamped on your plate against the specification in your manual.

Locate and unscrew the mounting screws on the cover panel. For the front cover, pull the top edge toward you, then slide it in the direction indicated by the arrows in your manual. Be gentle — the covers come off easily once the screws or clips are released.

Needles & Thread

Which models require it?

Only certain models with pneumatic features require compressed air — for example, machines with a pneumatic auto foot lifter or pneumatic thread trimmer. Standard models like the DDL-8700 and DDL-8000A series do not require compressed air.
